Dancing-Tree Consulting combines more than 15 years of training and experience in both spiritual and business arenas to meet individual, group and small business needs. Dancing-Tree Consulting is founded on Practical SpiritualityTM, an approach to life developed by Staci Boden. Practical SpiritualityTM recognizes that life is change. Resisting change creates stagnation, while embracing change ignites potential. Realizing the potential in any aspect of life or business involves entering the unknown to discover and learn. Staci is a certified Doula with a Master's in Women's Spirituality from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and has over 15 years of spiritual training and small business experience. Her husband, two tweenage children and precious dog teach her to surrender with a smile. Staci was a year old when her parents moved to San Francisco in 1970 -- in time to catch the waves of new consciousness coming from California's shores. Her parents divorced and followed their hearts, gifting Staci with a legacy of consciousness expressed through community, feminism and spirituality. Staci had a spiritual awakening at 15 and almost immediately bumped into an underlying message she couldn't accept: that being spiritual was a way to control life to get what you want. The reality of Staci's mother having an eye disease combined with an urge to connect with the mystery created a paradox that fueled her spiritual explorations. As a teenager and throughout college, Staci studied meditation, tarot, and a tingling in her hands. Dancing was a way to express her fullness. After graduating with a B.A. from Brandeis University, Staci worked for two years as a case manager for a private mediator, completed one year of law school and then left the land of "should" to follow her heart in her work life. By then, Staci had discovered a spiritual home in earth-based traditions. She found California Institute of Integral Studies in 1994 and earned a Master's in Women's Spirituality. At the same time, Staci began a five-year apprenticeship with Oneisha Healing Store in Half Moon Bay, California. In 1997, she began offering individual sessions incorporating personal process, guided visualization and energetic bodywork. In 1999, Staci continued her spiritual training in a four-year program studying non-ordinary states of consciousness. In 2002, Sue and Staci created Sacred Dance, an evening of freestyle, intuitive, body-movement to realize dance as a spiritual practice. She also began assisting Maitri Breathwork TM which over the next 10 years would lead to co-facilitating breathwork. Throughout adulthood, Staci's 19-year relationship with her husband Alex has been foundational in teaching her about conscious partnership. The arrival of their two children has provided education as to how pregnancy, birth and mothering can be a spiritual path unto itself. In 2003, Hokhmah Karen Gandley and Staci founded Birthing Intuition TM. Staci became a certified Doula in 2005. In early 2006, Staci joined Homestyle Midwifery TM, an on-call midwifery service at a local hospital, where she developed, coordinated and administered communication and organizational systems to help Homestyle grow into a thriving practice. Unfortunately, because of larger budget issues unrelated to Homestyle's success, funding was cut and Staci remained with Homestyle until it closed in the summer of 2007. The loss of Homestyle became an opportunity for Staci to slow down and digest the past. During her 15 years of small business experience Staci grew an ability to educate clients, create systems, write and edit materials and coordinate events. Her 15 years of spiritual training and facilitation taught Staci how to support clients in developing awareness, intuition and authenticity. Staci's experience with pregnancy crystallized her commitment to birthing consciousness. Through writing and with Practical SpiritualityTM as her guide, Staci realized that the root of what she offers people is guidance and support through transition into transformation. For Staci, the ways she helps people learn and grow -- on-site training, writing, sitting with a client, holding women's circles -- are all sources of joy.
